Product Overview

Help relieve your child’s worst allergy symptoms with these dye-free chewable allergy medicine tablets. Each chewable contains 2.5 mg of cetirizine HCL to help provide 24-hour relief of common allergy symptoms including itchy eyes, sneezing, runny nose, and itchy nose and throat.

This dye-free allergy medicine is suitable for children and toddlers under 6 and older than 2 years old. Each chewable tablet comes in a kid-friendly grape flavor and can be taken on-the-go with or without water.

Active Ingredient

Cetirizine HCl 2.5 mg (in each tablet)

When you have an allergic reaction, your immune system produces chemicals known as histamines to fight the allergen, and these are what cause your symptoms. Cetirizine helps relieve these symptoms by blocking the effects of histamines, so your symptoms don’t develop.

Product Details

Suitable for kids and toddlers ages 2+, each chewable allergy relief tablet contains 2.5 milligrams of the effective antihistamine cetirizine HCl to relieve common allergy symptoms including:

  • runny nose

  • sneezing

  • itchy and watery eyes

  • itchy nose and throat

Providing 24-hour relief, these children’s chewable allergy medicine tablets help relieve symptoms caused by pollen and other seasonal allergens, as well as indoor allergens such as mold, pet dander and dust.

Age/Condition

Directions

Chew or crush tablets completely before swallowing.

Chew and swallow 1 tablet (2.5 mg) once daily; If needed, dose can be increased to a maximum of 2 tablets (5 mg) once daily or 1 tablet (2.5 mg) every 12 hours. Do not give more than 2 tablets (5 mg) in 24 hours.

Adults and children 6 years and over:

Chew and swallow 2 tablets (5 mg) or 4 tablets (10 mg) once daily depending upon severity of symptoms; do not take more than 4 tablets (10 mg) in 24 hours.

Adults 65 years and over:

Chew and swallow 2 tablets (5 mg) once daily; do not take more than 2 tablets (5 mg) in 24 hours.

Children under 2 years of age:

May be taken with or without water.

 Do not use  if you have ever had an allergic reaction to this product or any of its ingredients or to an antihistamine containing hydroxyzine.

 Ask a doctor before use if you have  liver or kidney disease. Your doctor should determine if you need a different dose.

 Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are  taking tranquilizers or sedatives.

 When using this product 

  • Drowsiness may occur

  • Avoid alcoholic drinks

  • Alcohol, sedatives, and tranquilizers may increase drowsiness

  • Be careful when driving a motor vehicle or operating machinery

 Stop use and ask a doctor if  an allergic reaction to this product occurs. Seek medical help right away.

 If pregnant or breast-feeding: 

  • If breast-feeding: not recommended

  • If pregnant: ask a health professional before use.

Always follow the instructions that come with Children’s ZYRTEC®. When taking Children’s ZYRTEC® Allergy Syrup, be sure to use the dosing cup that comes in the package. Other items like kitchen teaspoons, droppers or measuring devices that come with other medicines may not be accurate. If you have any questions about treating your child’s allergies, please speak with your doctor.
